Michael designed Teepee in a Box with his son Makalu. Years ago, Makalu decided that Vancouver’s new Ronald McDonald House should have a teepee, he wanted all kids to enjoy the special feeling of being inside one. Our box around the teepee is like the chocolate coating in a box of chocolates – Is it mint, caramel or peanut butter inside?

Inside is a place to roll around and dream. We built our teepee as a canvas for your stories of the spaces that you feel most playful and most happy.

We ran Teepee in a Box as a design-build through MGA, prior to creating DBR. It inspired us to develop a dedicated not for profit organization that would continue to explore such unique interventions in our community.
